Sam Houston State University (Political Science)
I am a former cognitive tutor for a major tutoring organization in the United States and Canada for 3 years. During my tenure there I worked with children ages 3-18 developing the most basic fundamental learning skills all the way through SAT/ACT prep. I am a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a B.A. in Political Science and Business Administration with a 3.89 G.P.A. I am well suited to teach a variety of subject (except mathematics) and am also learned on teaching note taking and study skills to help students reach their full potential.
I obtained a rigorous grammar, reading, and writing education from first grade through college. Political Science requires the ability to not only present an argument but present a grammatically correct, well planned format while using many in-depth words phrases and sentences to complete that. Furthermore I believe in the education of learning how to diagram sentences to not only help the reading and writing process but to help children and adults learn other languages.
I am an experienced tutor with recommendations if needed. I am very confident that I have the abilities to help you, your child or anyone in need of help. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
