I currently teach English II and III, on-level and Pre-AP. Before becoming an English teacher, I studied at Texas State University where I majored in English and received a minor in Communication. Upon graduation, I worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the main operating room while I attended South Texas College of Law. After finding my passion for teaching, I became alternatively certified and began my teaching career at Alvin High School. I have had extensive experience with the ABYDOS New Jersey Writing Project method of teaching writing, where teachers focus on teaching writing as a process that fosters creativity and depth.
I enjoy teaching and helping students who struggle with the STAAR to gain confidence through developing their critical-thinking skills, reading and writing skills, and teaching them testing strategies in order for them to be successful in the future. Having current classroom experience, I am continually learning new strategies and different ways of teaching difficult concepts. I can help your child pass the state mandated STAAR test and bring their knowledge up to whatever level he or she would like to reach. I can also help students who struggle with grammar or their English class in general. I have experience helping students from elementary to high school. Contact me today to let me help you attain your level of success!

Lindsey was very understandable and very knowledgeable about the STAR test. My son has a reading disability and she was amazing with him. I would definitely recommend her for other students that may struggle with testing
For our first lesson, Lindsey was great! She was punctual and had a plan. Our daughter is learning a lot.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored for the SAT for an SAT prep company. I specifically tutored critical reading and sentence completion. I know all of the strategies to help a student perform better.
I have tutored students one-on-one specifically for the STAAR and have had impressive results. I also perform a day long crash STAAR tutorial two weekends before the test to make sure students are prepared. I know many skills and strategies to ensure students success on the test. I also heavily teach how to write a 26-line essay while still incorporating the Abydos method of teaching.
