My name is Limor and I'm a certified and experienced English remediator. I specialize in the Hickey program, which is a special language technique for teaching dyslexics, developed by Kathleen Hickey and based on the Orton Gillingham approach. It is a highly structured, cumulative, phonic-based technique which incorporates multi sensory methods to optimize learning. It is suitable for any age range, widely used and has proven to be very successful. Your child would not only feel the improvement on the academic level but also on the personal level. As it is a known fact that low academic achievements and low self esteem go hand in hand, becoming a more fluent reader and writer and gaining more confidence will help boost your child's self esteem and make them feel they are part of the class.
I have a tremendous amount of experience in tutoring and coaching ADD/ADHD students, and raising an ADHD child has been a challenge in itself. But it has taught me a lot about being your child's advocate, about trying to find the good in your child, about our battles in life, about raising emotionally healthy children who will eventually grow up to be happy, positive adults, about family relations and so much more. I always make sure to stay on top of my students' academic achievements, but the emotional aspect is just as important to me. As a mother, I have given the emotional support and encouragement to my ADHD son and as a tutor I have done the same with my students.
I think outside the box together with my ADD students. I empathize with my students when they fail to achieve their goals and celebrate their success with them. I believe the sky is the limit, and with the right guidance and support your child can touch the sky and that star waiting to shine, will shine.
My credentials include a BA in English - Linguistics and Literature.
I am a Certified English Remediator (trained Dyslexia tutor).
I am also a certified instructor of the Raviv method which is a neuro-cognitive approach to developing and correcting learning and attention skills, in both children and adults.
Furthermore, I have experience in AD(H)D coaching, as well as working with students with special needs.
Please feel free to always contact me, as my schedule changes. With the school year ending soon, I will also be available in the mornings.

Extremely Patient and Flexible
My son is a challenge and Limor managed him well and with lots of patience. We agreed to a game plan for next week's lesson and Limor ended the session on a positive note with a stubborn 7 year old who did not want to be tutored.Susannah, 1 lesson with Limor
Limor is extremely dedicated, and makes learning fun. She puts an extensive amount of time and effort into each lesson, and makes an effort to coordinate her lessons with other professionals involved in my daughter’s education. I would highly recommend her.Laura, 178 lessons with Limor
Patient and thorough
Limor utilizes material that is applicable to my son's individual needs and tailors her lesson to both keep him engaged as well as learning fun. She is so patient and thorough both in her lesson plan but also with me. After each lesson, she gives me a detailed account of the areas they covered. Her genuine concern for her student is what makes her so special. She really goes above and beyond.Meaghan , 20 lessons with Limor

Very knowledgeable & makes learning fun
Limor really takes the time to get to know her students so that she can focus the lesson on specific goals. She takes very detailed notes to plan next lesson & to discuss any observations she may come across while teaching. She is extremely patient, kind, and Reed lived playing the learning game at the end! So glad we found her!Jill , 8 lessons with Limor
Great Tutor for us for over a year and a half!
Limor has been a great tutor for my dyslexic daughter. She is always looking for new ways to teach phonics and English rules. She works well with my daughter's in school tutor and supplements during the school year and the summer. My daughter has advanced greatly over the past year and a half and I think a lot of it has come from working with Limor. ThanksSusan , 107 lessons with Limor

Limor is very knowledgeable and works well with my twins. She spends preparation time outside of the lesson as well as communicating with my kid's teacher to gain knowledge about their weaknesses. She is very dedicated to the success of the students which is invaluable!Deonna, 92 lessons with Limor

She is a very nice person and she works very hard to help my son on his reading and sounding out words. She is very educated and knows how to work with children and to get their mind focused on what needs to be learned. She is a very good communicator, and she cares for her students. We are happy to continuing working with her. I do believe she can help my son in the ways to learn the basics of sounding words out and reading. Thank you Limor for your continuous hard work.Prudence, 20 lessons with Limor
