Bar Ilan University (English Linguistics)
My name is Limor and I'm a certified and experienced English remediator. I specialize in the Hickey program, which is a special language technique for teaching dyslexics, developed by Kathleen Hickey and based on the Orton Gillingham approach. It is a highly structured, cumulative, phonic-based technique which incorporates multi sensory methods to optimize learning. It is suitable for any age range, widely used and has proven to be very successful. Your child would not only feel the improvement on the academic level but also on the personal level. As it is a known fact that low academic achievements and low self esteem go hand in hand, becoming a more fluent reader and writer and gaining more confidence will help boost your child's self esteem and make them feel they are part of the class.
I have a tremendous amount of experience in tutoring and coaching ADD/ADHD students, and raising an ADHD child has been a challenge in itself. But it has taught me a lot about being your child's advocate, about trying to find the good in your child, about our battles in life, about raising emotionally healthy children who will eventually grow up to be happy, positive adults, about family relations and so much more. I always make sure to stay on top of my students' academic achievements, but the emotional aspect is just as important to me. As a mother, I have given the emotional support and encouragement to my ADHD son and as a tutor I have done the same with my students.
I think outside the box together with my ADD students. I empathize with my students when they fail to achieve their goals and celebrate their success with them. I believe the sky is the limit, and with the right guidance and support your child can touch the sky and that star waiting to shine, will shine.
My credentials include a BA in English - Linguistics and Literature.
I am a Certified English Remediator (trained Dyslexia tutor).
I am also a certified instructor of the Raviv method which is a neuro-cognitive approach to developing and correcting learning and attention skills, in both children and adults.

Limor is truly concerned and goes above and beyond to be helpful each lesson. My daughter loves her and looks forward to her lesson each week. We are so lucky to have her.
Limor really takes the time to get to know her students so that she can focus the lesson on specific goals. She takes very detailed notes to plan next lesson & to discuss any observations she may come across while teaching. She is extremely patient, kind, and Reed lived playing the learning game at the end! So glad we found her!
Limor has been a great tutor for my dyslexic daughter. She is always looking for new ways to teach phonics and English rules. She works well with my daughter's in school tutor and supplements during the school year and the summer. My daughter has advanced greatly over the past year and a half and I think a lot of it has come from working with Limor.
Limor is wonderful! She really prepares for the lesson to make sure she is meeting my child's specific needs. It's obvious she tutors because she loves it.
Limor is very knowledgeable and works well with my twins. She spends preparation time outside of the lesson as well as communicating with my kid's teacher to gain knowledge about their weaknesses. She is very dedicated to the success of the students which is invaluable!
My son has been working with Limor for the last year. I just have to say the improvements we have seen are remarkable. Limor is very patient and really takes the time to figure out the underlying problem(s). She always comes to our lessons well prepared and provides lots of insight and suggestions. If looking for a tutor - look no farther - she is the best!
She is a very nice person and she works very hard to help my son on his reading and sounding out words. She is very educated and knows how to work with children and to get their mind focused on what needs to be learned. She is a very good communicator, and she cares for her students. We are happy to continuing working with her. I do believe she can help my son in the ways to learn the basics of sounding words out and reading. Thank you Limor for your continuous hard work.
Limor is extremely dedicated, and makes learning fun. She puts an extensive amount of time and effort into each lesson, and makes an effort to coordinate her lessons with other professionals involved in my daughter’s education. I would highly recommend her.
Limor is great as a tutor. She is very caring and really spends a lot of her time to do her best for my son. She goes out of her way in her free time to try and help my son in any way that she can. She always has been flexible with scheduling during the Summer, which can be challenging. I appreciate all that she does and would be a valuable resource for anyone that is looking for a knowledgeable tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have first hand experience with ADD/ADHD as I have a 28 year old son with ADHD and have gone a long way to get him to where he is today. I am also a certified English Remediator, qualified to teach English to students with specific learning difficulties, and I have a tremendous amount of experience tutoring and coaching ADD/ADHD students. I also volunteered (for 4 years) in a non-profit organization in order to promote ADD awareness among parents and teachers.
My in-depth study was on ADHD and its Management at Home and at School, with emphasis on the emotional aspect, the latter being my passion and the guideline in my work.
I am a certified dyslexia tutor with 10+ years of hands-on experience. My certificate is accredited by the British Dyslexia Association, and it certifies me to work with students with different learning disabilities which go hand in hand with Dyslexia (ADD/ADHD, for example). I also have a BA in English Linguistics and Literature, Linguistics being my major.
I use the Hickey Program as my anchor. It is a highly structured, phonic-based, multi-sensory program based on the Orton-Gillingham approach. I also use multi-disciplinary techniques, like neuro-cognitive techniques, techniques to strengthen auditory and visual skills, techniques to improve spelling and spelling memory, and more. I put a lot of emphasis on sound processing and on word and language structure.
I work with what works best for my students and tailor the lessons accordingly. I believe this is the best way to go, as each student processes information in a different way and in a different pace. I try to make the lessons fun and use games and out of the box ideas to keep my students engaged and to optimize learning.
I am a certified English remediator and the technique I specialize in (The Hickey Program) is all about phonemic awareness (phonics). I will help your child acquire the skills he/she needs to decode (read) and encode (write) words.

I believe every student wants to be good and deserves the chance to succeed.
