It would be my dream to teach full-time, but I have chosen the full-time career path of a physicist. Mark focused on AP Calculus primarily today and with this being the first meeting, he covered a significant amount of material. I feel I learned more from him in the short time spent than I did in 3-4 times as many hours in my regular class. Great tutor - looking forward to the next session.

I worked with Mark a couple of weeks before my second SAT and ACT to help boost my math scores. He was a great tutor to work with! Mark taught me many strategies to quickly go through the more challenging math questions, and explained it to me in a way that helped me understand better. We hired Mark to tutor our daughter two days before her second attempt at the GRE exam to try to get into Graduate school. Mark did a marathon with her - 6 dedicated hours to help bring up her math scores. He was patient, talked on her level, and kept her on task for the whole 6 hours. Great tutor, would definitely recommend him to others and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. First tutor I've met who teaches out of the passion in his heart and his desire to see the student succeed rather than just for the money.
I began tutorials with Mark in the summer to prepare for college calculus and found that he was a great tutor. He definitely knew his material very well and is extremely intelligent but was still able to convey the material to myself in a way I could easily understand. He was flexible with his schedule and was willing to work with me every weekend. On top of that, he was willing to assign me problems and then work them out during the week and send me his work so I could compare it with my own. I have programmed in C since 1997. I eventually transitioned to a C++ programmer in the last 12 years, but C++ subsumes C. If one is a proficient C++ programmer, then one can definitely do C. This is how I am with C++ and C.
I have programmed in C++ both in school and professionally since the year 2000. My Master's thesis in Physics was based on a C++ program used to perform Green Function Monte Carlo on a quantum fluid. My current Ph.D. Physics research is also based on an objected-oriented C++ program that I created with a carefully crafted object-oriented design using classes, inheritance, and polymorphism. I am definitely proficient in programming in C++.
I have programmed in C and C++ professionally and as a student for the last 12 years. I am a computational and theoretical physicist, so most of my research deals with applying theory in the form of computational models which I do in the form of object-oriented C++ codes using XML input files and Boost mathematical libraries. I am very knowledgeable about C, C++ and computer programming in general and would love to tutor these subjects as well. Plus I am already approved on this system to tutor C and C++. I can likewise tutor general computer programming.
I am a professional theoretical physicist. Physics is full of differential equations: Newton's Second Law, Maxwell's Equations of Electromagnetic Theory, Legendre's differential equation, Bessel's differential equation, Laplace's equation, the wave equation, Schrodinger's equation in Quantum Mechanics, etc. I am very proficient in using and solving differential equations. Furthermore, I have taken Differential Equations in my undergraduate education and received an A grade in the course.
I am a professional theoretical physicist who deals with Linear Algebra throughout Physics, including performing coordinate transformations, using and manipulating vectors, manipulating and using matrices and tensors, and using eigenvalues. I also completed a course on Linear Algebra as an Undergraduate and received an A. Furthermore, in the past I taught Linear Algebra.
I have been an avid user of Mathematica since about 1993 both academically and professionally. I have used Mathematica to perform calculus, algebra, linear algebra, and physics. I have also programmed in the Mathematica programming language. I would consider myself an expert in Mathematica.
I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and I have professionally worked in Mechanical Engineering problems for 6+ years in my career.
