I believe in teaching to the whole brain, therefore my strategies are multi-sensory and involve balancing activities to help promote balance of the brain along with researched based programs to enrich cognitive development.
I taught graduated high school 1998 from the Teacher's Academy and began to enhance my experience and passion of teaching since then. I have substituted all grade levels k- 12th grade but prefer k-6th.
I taught in a public school setting for 5 years and won the recognition for Teacher of the Year Award within my first 3 years of teaching. I taught in multiple private school settings where I have worked one on with with students with Dyslexia and related learning challenges.
I have a lot of patience in working with children and believe with the right instruction and consistency of therapy all students can succeed and grow. I love seeing students succeed and gain the self confidence that many of them lack.
I currently am attending workshops and conferences around Texas to keep informed of the latest news and development findings of dyslexic children and related disorders. I have an open mind and have a love of learning myself, therefore I am always seeking out new innovative ways to teach children effectively.
I am currently conducting therapy sessions via Skype and at the library - This is temporary until I find an office space to rent.
