I'm a happily married mother of a beautiful 5 year old daughter. While I work full-time, I would love to help others expand their knowledge of sign language, improve their writing, reading and math skills in the evenings or on weekends. I am able to introduce students to American Sign Language and take them all the way through to a conversational level. I have an Associate of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English. Reading and writing are one of my passions and I routinely proofread documents ranging from business to college term papers. I am very proficient in math all the way through basic Algebra.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have spent most of my life learning and creating crochet and cross stitch projects. While I am not a professional, I am very capable and happy to teach the basics of both. When doing cross stitch I am very particular about consistency and appearance, including hiding loose ends and not using knots for the thread, so that the finished work stays flat. I usually make most of my holiday gifts out of crochet, and adore making small projects for my daughter. She is 4 and I am working to teach her the basics of sewing and loom. She loves it!
I took 4 years of sign language (98-02) in high school and 2 years of sign language in college (02-04). I worked for the Sherman ISD for one year as a sign language interpreter (2004). I have continued my proficiency through communication with deaf friends, teaching my niece, nephew and daughter, and signing stories to my daughter's preschool class.
