I am currently a medical student (MD) at UT-Health in San Antonio. I love learning about the human body and clinical applications to improve people's lives. I have academic experience in a wide-variety of undergraduate and graduate coursework including: Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Algebra, Calculus, Psychology, Counseling, and many others.

I really enjoy helping others make improvements. As a tutor, I get to help students overcome obstacles or challenging material. When I help others achieve their goals, I get to experience the sense of accomplishment along with them. I personally invest myself into my work with other people and take pride in getting results.

I have most recently served as an anatomy tutor at UT-Health and study science every day as part of my life as a medical student. My studies are mostly focused on human biology and anatomy at the moment, but I have completed extensive coursework in various sciences, math, engineering, and psychology.

I consider myself an expert at preparing for standardized exams. My scores for the ACT in 2005 were 33 (English), 34 (Math), 32 (Reading), and 32 (Science) placing me in the 98th percentile of test takers. Since then, I have continued to study science and continued to prepare for and perform well on standardized exams such as the GRE and MCAT. For the GRE, I earned scores of 164 (V), 163 (Q), and 5.5 (W). For the MCAT, I scored a 511 with individual section scores ranging from the 67th to 99th percentile.

Anatomy,

Anatomy

I started medical school with an open-mind about the field but quickly realized that I found human anatomy to be far more fascinating than anything else I was learning. Even upon completion of our first-year anatomy course, I have continued to study on my own daily. I currently serve as a teaching assistant and tutor for the first-year Physician Assistant students' anatomy class because I simply enjoy learning and teaching it.
Genetics,

Genetics

Genetics was my favorite undergraduate biology course, and I passed with an A. I have continued to reinforce the concepts I learned in preparation for the MCAT and in coursework as a medical student. As a future physician, understanding genetics is often a core component of understanding and treating illness so it is built into our multi-disciplinary coursework focused on individual organ systems.

From 2004 - 2010, I competed as an amateur boxer with USA Boxing. From 2006 - 2010, I was a member of the West Point Boxing Team; we were the NCBA National Champions in 2008, 2009, and 2010. As an Army Officer, I completed the Level I trainer certification for the Modern Army Combatives Program in 2014 and have sporadically trained at various BJJ and MMA facilities.
