Greetings interested students!
I am a professional orchestral musician who loves teaching music lessons. I gear our time together towards making the most of your current skills and teaching you how to apply new ones so that your progress is natural and enjoyable. I have traveled across the United States and abroad as a performer and I would love to share what I know with you!
I have a master's degree in music performance. I teach a well rounded approach to music while investing my time in YOU. I truly believe that all of my current students are fulfilling their unique potential and I feel incredibly grateful to have them in my life. I would love to meet you and share an experience that promotes the best in both of us.
I am well versed in music history and have traveled all over Europe to visit the sites that are mentioned in your history books. I've played in beautiful concert halls as a performer and can teach you efficient practice techniques that are enjoyable to spend time doing. I've played symphonic, opera and ballet repertoire as a bassoonist, as well as jazz and quartet repertoire as a saxophonist. I've studied basic and advanced music theory and love talking about it!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions! My door is always open and I'd be happy to talk to you. Greetings interested students!

I've studied ear training and sight singing since my freshman year in high school and habitually SOLFEGE in my car without even realizing it anymore. There's no magic bullet to ear-training...you just have to start and keep practicing! I teach ear training by starting with fundamentals and building upon them with melodies that get more complex as your skills advance.
My master's degree in music performance involved extensive studies in a core curriculum of music history, theory, composition, stage presence, and beyond. Because of this innate, detailed understanding of music, I teach general music with ease and passion and rejoice in including fun facts about music that aficionados would be tickled to hear from a budding musician. I teach music notation, instrument fundamentals, rhythm, ear training, all the way up to highly advanced skills like reed-making for bassoonists.
I have extensive knowledge of music history from antiquity to the modern area, with a passion for the Renaissance to Early Baroque eras. I studied music history in college for eight years, my most recent course being Post Modern Jazz, and read about it on my spare time. Because artists are highly responsible for the direction of culture, I teach music history in a way that combines world history, politics and art with the lives of specific musicians and how they affected what we now hear on the radio.
I studied classical and jazz saxophone for eight years and learned from some of the best saxophone teachers in the country. I am well versed in a variety of musical styles and teach according to a curriculum of repertoire that I've developed as a saxophone teacher over the past four years. I personalize my comprehensive lesson plans for each student and enjoy having a great time once a week with each individual!
