McMurry University (English and Writing)
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (Master's)
Throughout my years of higher education I have always loved helping students reach their full potential when it comes to English and Writing. Working as a writing tutor at the university level I am experienced with helping students in any discipline reach their full potential with writing for their discipline. I have a bachelor's degree and master's degree in English related areas and have taught composition at the college level for 2 years. I love spreading the joy and importance of literacy to students through critical thinking and writing exercises and can't wait to help you achieve your success.
I specialize tutoring in English Literature and Writing for multiple genres. I can help students understand and think critically about literature, as well as enhance their writing skills. I also recently received my TESOL certificate and so am qualified to teach English as a Second Language to second language students.
My goal for each session is to have my students learn one new concept and see how it is applicable to the world around them outside of school. Making personal connections is key to a student's successful understanding of new concepts.
I am generally available for tutoring everyday from 9am to 9pm (subject to change). I can travel to students or meet them online. My base rate is $50/hour in-person and $45/hour online.
I look forward to hearing from you soon! Throughout my years of higher education I have always loved helping students reach their full potential when it comes to English and Writing. Working as a writing tutor at the university level I am experienced with helping students
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
