My tutoring experience includes, but not exclusively, one on one teaching through after-school programs for Project Target Teks and sessions in small groups for the State of Texas Mandated TAKS, now transitioned STAAR Test. I tutored in Alamo Heights here in San Antonio this past summer for ACT/SAT Prep. My expertise includes comprehensive preparation for Reading/Writing-Composition for Grades 6-12. My tutoring approach includes building self-esteem and encouraging one to develop more confidence in one's self. Focus on meeting their academic needs is paramount. I retired in 2010 after twenty years from the outstanding NEISD in San Antonio, Texas and am choosing once again to take my qualified status and knowledge from the classroom to the individual seeking guidance through a tutoring service.
I am at my best when I can share my knowledge on a one-on-one basis. I love teaching and I am good at it. I know how to relate to children of all ages. My wish is to instill in young people a willingness to pursue excellence and accept that they are in control of making their own choices. Demonstrating patience and understanding will help them in improving organizational skills. I am an extremely upbeat person and I bring a contagion of "Piz-zaz to the table with my students. A proven track record, and my background includes lots of training for public speaking.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
