I have been working for a school district here in San Antonio, Texas as a Substitute Teacher for the past 5 years. I enjoy working with students. It is very fulfilling to see a student make progress and achieve success in the end. Knowledge I believe is a human right everyone is entitled to.
I am very familiar with the state requirements for many subjects, of which English is one. I have worked for 5 years with ESL/ESOL students from out of the United States and within. I love to proofread documents, I actually sometimes do it for fun. As far as Public Speaking is concerned, one of my greatest assets is communication and Public Speaking. Through out the years as I sort a Masters Degree in Human Rights, I had training in Public Speaking and Diplomacy. I articulate very well and know the importance of the use of Grammar in the contemporary world. Any one who wishes to be successful at the job site in future, should be able to properly communicate.
I had been a student and I know how it feels to need for assistance with school work. I always go past my expectations to make sure that the students I work with achieve success. I take time to explain and help review material before exams. I accept questions for clarification in cases where students do not fully understand the topic. In the end, the goal of tutoring is to ensure that the students make it through and someday graduate. You will not regret hiring me as your tutor! That I can guarantee! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
With a proven track record of 5 years, I have been teaching ESL/ESOL students in a school district setting as well as at home. In addition, I hold a Substitute Teacher Special Education certificate which also covers the scope of English as a second language for English language learners. Coupled with my educational background in speech language pathology, I strongly believe the ability to communicate is a human right on its own that must be guaranteed. Best Regards, Rosslyne O.
