Sam Houston State University (Criminal Justice)
My name is Christopher. I'm 27 and have a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Psychology minor. I currently work at an education center in Dallas.
I enjoy working with kids and helping them better themselves due to the nature of my past jobs that I have worked. I want to make sure kids pass school and continue on to higher education.
Where I currently work, I'm able to help kids do just that and help them with school work. Because of this, they feel better that somebody is helping and they feel like succeeding.
I tutor in Science, English, Writing, ADHD/ADD, Psychology, Anatomy, Vocabulary, Spelling, Criminal Justice, and ESL/ESOL. My experience comes from tutoring my younger brothers and my education from college
I love to work with kids and am a fun person to work with. I like to teach with humor and not just the plain black and white questions but, at the same time make it a challenging experience. I took a semester of Anantomy and Physiology in high school. With that plus what I learned in Biology in college, I believe I can be of great assistance in this subject. I always enjoyed learning about the human body and would make this subject very enjoyable with interactive videos and lessons.
I majored in Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University. I can provide transcripts upon request. I have knowledge from the Intro to Criminal Justice to courses such as History of the Criminal Justice System, Global Terrorism, and Understanding Human Behavior. I have a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
I have background education on this from being grade school. I continued science through college as by degree is a bachelor of science so my educational experience in science is quite high. Science is also my favorite subject from biology to botany. I also have experience helping my brothers and the kids where I work.
I have helped kids at my workplace improve their reading skills by tutoring them. Kids here do have reading problems and as a part of my job, when not in school, is help them improve their reading skills by tutoring them. When they are trying to read, I help them by having them sound out the words and explain why syllables and letters may have the same sound.
At my job, a lot of the kids have reading and writing problems due to the environment they come from. When there not in school or are in school, my job is to help them when they need to write something. I tutor them on proper grammar and word usage when they write something to staff or to parents. I show them where to put what words and why.
Psychology was my minor in college. I can provide transcripts of my classes upon request. Since I have experience in this subject, I feel my knowledge from learning what I got from my classes at college will be highly beneficial to tutoring. One of my goals is to be a Behavioral Analyst in the Criminal Justice System.
I have experience all the way through college on this subject. I have written 1-15 page reports/research papers and have had to proofread other people's work. I have examples of my writings in a folder and can furnish them if asked for examples.
