I have been teaching and tutoring mathematics in the San Antonio are for over 20 years and am considered by many to be one of the best math tutors around. I majored in mathematics an minored in education at Case Institute of Technology where I graduated with honors. I went on to study mathematics at graduate school at Ohio State University where I received a Master's degree in Mathematics. After receiving my Master's degree, I continued to do doctoral work in math for several years.
I have a gift for getting inside the minds of my students and seeing the problems they are having from their point of view. From here, using my knowledge of math and how students learn math,I can guide them through a series of exercises to understand the concepts they are struggling with and overcome them.
I tutor all levels of mathematics, from beginning arithmetic, through all levels of algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and differential equations. I have designed many problem sets in most of these topics to help students practice the new skills they acquire. I currently teach at Northwest Vista College where I teach all levels of mathematics, from elementary algebra and arithmetic, to calculus 1, 2, and 3.
I prefer to travel to you and tutor at your house, or anywhere you feel comfortable - a bookstore, coffee shop, etc. I have found that students are better able to learn in an environment they are familiar with and feel comfortable in.

Of course Jeff tutors my son so I believe my review should be based on my son's experience. I must say my son is very impressed with his experience with Jeff. He informed me that Jeff is a "very smart guy that knows how to teach". This is coming from a teenager who is currently enrolled multiple AP classes.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
