I am currently working as a Special Education Teacher in the Pearsall Independent School District. I am certified in Generalist 4-8 and Special Education Early Childhood to 12th Grade. I have taught in a General Education Classroom and as a Life Skills Teacher. I am currently working in the Alternative School Behavior Unit.
I have passed the required tests in Texas for Generalist 4-8, Special Ed EC-12 and PPR 160. I am an Air Force Veteran who has traveled and I also enjoy US History. I have a varied list of life experiences that I know will help keep my students interested and on task with their subject matter. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a state of Texas certified Special Education Teacher who is currently working in a Behavior Unit at the Alternative School in the Pearsall ISD. I am currently working with two students who are both ADHD and I do have the patience to work with these type of students.

I have worked with children who are autistic on all levels of the spectrum. I am currently the case manager for a student who is severely autistic and has been known to be violent.
My management experience began in high school when I would manage my parents service station on weekends when they would go out of town. My minor for my Bachelors Degree is Management. I also have a Masters Degree in Human Development with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and Education. I have been a manager in the civilian world and during my career in the United States Air Force.
I have a four year degree in Criminology from St. Leo University, with a minor in management. I have worked in the area of law enforcement for 28 years in the United States Air Force. I also worked as a Patrol Officer for the Sumter, SC Police Department for 7 years.
I am a Generalist 4-8 certified teacher in the State of Texas. I have taught 5th Grade Writing and U.S. History. I am also Special Education certified and I am currently working in a Behavior Unit with fourth and fifth graders.
My public speaking career started in high school with my first speech class. While I was in the Air Force, as part of my leadership training, we had to do speeches during Leadership School. As a DARE Officer, our very first lesson was an impromptu speech, followed by more training on public speaking.
I am also a Lector at my church, where the congregation has at least 800 people at each service.
My undergrad degree is in Criminology from Saint Leo University. Most of the course work for this degree plan was sociology courses. I have had classes in Death and Dying, Correctional Systems, Juvenile Justice and Urban Studies. I feel I am qualified to help someone in the area of Sociology.
My alternate certification program for my teacher certification is in Special Education. I have taken and passed the teacher certification test for Special Education for Early Childhood through grade 12. In the state of Texas. I have also worked in an Altrnative Learning Enviorment (ALE) classroom for children with Special Needs.
