About Robert

Hello potential students! My name is Robert, I am currently a graduate student in Physics at UTSA and I recently graduated with my BS in physics also from UTSA. I have years of experience tutoring college students in College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1&2, General Chemistry 1&2 and Intro Physics 1&2. I would be willing to tutor college students in Math up to Calculus 3 and Physics up to Physics 3. I have scored very high on both the SAT and ACT as well as the GRE and have been teaching these tests at a well known company for the past 3 years. If you are interested in tutoring please contact me through this site, I am available most nights and and weekends. Thanks! Hello potential students! Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

My qualifications for tutoring Algebra 1 are doing 4 years of intense math and science training to obtain my B.S. in Physics, private tutoring College level Math up to Calculus 3 and professional Math tutoring for High School Students.

Algebra 2

My qualifications for tutoring Algebra 2 are doing 4 years of intense math and science training to obtain my B.S. in Physics, private tutoring College level Math up to Calculus 3 and professional Math tutoring for High School Students.

Calculus

As part of obtaining my B.S. in Physics I was required to take many upper level Mathematics courses and I have taken and received high marks in Calculus I,II and III as well as Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. Since a very large part of doing upper level Physics requires advanced Calculus, I have a very deep understanding of the concepts and applications of the theories and techniques in Calculus. As such I would feel comfortable tutoring Calculus from the High School level up to Calculus III for Undergraduates.

Chemistry

I have experience tutoring College level Chemistry(Basic and General Chemistry) as well as High School Chemistry. I have an extensive background in science and Chemistry is one of my strongest subjects.

Geometry

I have years of tutoring experience working with students of all levels from Elementary to College and have extensive experience in Geometry. I am currently employed professionally as a tutor for a well known company and Geometry is a common subject I each there.

Linear Algebra

I feel that I am qualified to tutor Linear Algebra because I have taken an upper division Linear Alebgra course at UTSA and earned a B+ grade. In addition I have taken nearly all physics courses that were offered at my university and many classes used Linear Algebra extensively as a tool to provide solutions to challenging problems, these classes include Quantum Mechanics 1/2, General Relativity, and Optical Physics. I feel that having completed all this courses with high grades qualifies me to tutor in Linear Algebra.

Mathematica

As part of my Undergraduate Physics training I have used Mathematica extensively to solve highly complex Quantum Mechanics problems. I feel that my experience in using Mathematica for this purpose qualifies me to tutor others in its use.

Physics

I have my Bachelors of Science in Physics from UTSA, I was a member of Sigma Pi Sigma the Physics Honor Society as well as a member of The American Physical Society. Having gotten my Degree specifically in Physics I am uniquely qualified to tutor this subject, I have also taken nearly every Physics course offered at my University including Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Solid State Physics, Photovoltaics, General Relativity, Cosmology and more. I received high marks in all my courses and am comfortable tutoring any Physics course.

Precalculus

I have taken and tutored nearly all Mathematics courses through Calculus 3. A solid base in Precal is an absolute necessity and as such I feel that my own background has strongly prepared me to tutor this subject.
