University of New Orleans (Biology)
While I lack the experience of my peers on this site I do not lack enthusiasm nor knowledge. I am younger but a very well rounded individual. Sometimes a different perspective is key. When it comes to my approach on tutoring I believe every student should have a individual plan. We do not all learn the same and not everyone has the same goal.
I am currently an American Airman working on my CCAF as well as finishing up my Bachelors in biology with a minor in chemistry. I have lived all over this country and work with people from all walks of life. To date I have only tutored one individual but I was quite successful. I got his D in biology to a B. I scored a 25 on my ACT. I scored highest in Reading with a 28. I scored an 84 on my ASVAB and was able to pick almost any job. I also earned a 94 in my tech school for the Air Force. I hope I can help many young people reach their goals. That is truly what a tutor is, a tool in the success of others. I look forward to being this tool.
I have a pretty flexible schedule. I encourage students to contact me if needing help preparing for the ASVAB as well as biology. While I lack the experience of my peers on this site I do not lack enthusiasm nor knowledge. I am younger but a very well rounded individual. Sometimes a different perspective is key. Emily W. Help me get a better view towards algebra. And was very supportive of the goals we set a head. Very understanding when I lacked the knowledge. In all it was a very good tutor experience 5 stars!!!
Off to a good start. I really like Emily's enthusiasm for the subject. It's easy to get motivated when the instructor is excited. Although this was only the first lesson, I expect that I will be learning a lot in the coming weeks. The fee is very reasonable for the return on the investment.
I have always had a major problem with math. Math has not been my strong subject since I first started school, although I can learn how to properly solve problems, someone usually knows a better way. Emily taught me easier ways to solve word problems for my preparation for the ASVAB.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken College Biology, microbiology, cell and molecular biology, etc. My major is biology.
