Bio

Hello parents and students!

I'm Robert, an award-winning educator for Brennan High School. In 2017, I was blessed to be honored by NISD as the First Year Educator of The Year for both my school and for the district as a whole. I LOVE teaching. This summer, I'm excited to get the opportunity to serve you or your child on a level which is fun, engaging, encouraging, and above all, productive.

--Background--

In May of 2012, I graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. I have a strong background in many subjects throughout my years, primarily in physics and mathematics. During my time working as an engineer, I served as a tutor for Breakthrough Austin for two years. I left my engineering job to pursue education. I know, I know. Crazy, right? While working to become a teacher I partnered with Wyzant and have been with them since. I have been very happy with all Wyzant has to offer through this website, both for tutors and students alike. Now I teach Robotics and Engineering to high school students and I'm enjoying every second of it. Go Robo Bears!

My hobbies include racquetball, bowling, composing music, drawing, video games, and cooking. The stole in my profile picture signifies my unforgettable experience studying engineering abroad in Seville, Spain.

--My Promise--

One of my top five strengths, evaluated by the StrengthsQuest survey, is "Relator". As such, I am inclined to reach people by bringing in my own experiences as a student. In my time as a tutor and educator, I've found that everyone learns differently. I will work diligently to find the most suitable method for my students to learn the material, and I will not give up on them. Helping people succeed academically is over and above far more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.

Great

Robert did a great job explaining a few of the things we covered on our first meeting! With further help I think that physics will become easier for me

Beverly , 1 lesson with Robert

good first lesson

Robert really helped explain the foundations of kinematics. I think weekly sessions will help in my overall grade of the course

Lesson went well.

We continued working on the practice exam and finished it. The lesson went well and Robert was happy to answer any questions I had and break anything down that I wasn't able to grasp. Going to work on factoring more on Wednesday, Robert is making this concept make more sense
