About Samuel

I have helped many improve on grades in Math, Physics, and Engineering. I am a trained and experienced tutor working with students at different levels for Northwest Vista College's Math Lab and UTSA's Mechanical Engineering lab (Graduate Teaching assistant)
I break things down with visual and practical examples that are easy to remember. I help follow students through assignments, often going the extra mile to give more clarifications or respond to their questions by phone or email after tutoring. My goal and joy is not the payment but the transfer of knowledge and the improvement/success of the student. Teaching, is my gift and passion, which I do with diligence, respect and a God-fearing heart. You will never regret choosing me as your tutor.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I have served as a youth pastor and missionary in Africa where I originally come from. I started a bible study group in 2009 for students in Wichita Falls Texas called Destiny family which generated three more bible study groups. Currently I started a phone line bible study on Wednesday nights called P.I.T.S.A.
I have been involved in many church planting teams and have taken part in many leadership seminars and conferences. I am strong believer in Jesus Christ who believers that Christian growth and maturity depends of prayer fellowship and the study of God's word (Bible).
In my years of traveling and preaching from place to place across villages and cities, I have seen the transforming power of the word of God and prayer in peoples lives.

Differential Equations

After earning two Bachelor's degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering, I am at the verge of completing a Master's program in mechanical Engineering in the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Differential Equations is an indispensable tool in Physics and Engineering. I have not only taken but also tutored classes like Advanced Fluid Mechanics, Computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and Advanced heat transfer, which all involve many applications of differential equations. I have applied differential equations most of my college life to model physical systems (linear and nonlinear).

MATLAB

I am currently finalizing my Master's degree program in mechanical Engineering in the University of Texas at San Antonio(UTSA), meantime performing my duties as a university-certified MATLAB Teaching Assistant. I have also used MATLAB in publishing papers for scientific journals.
In summer 2012, I used MATLAB in a design optimization research project for UAV's (Texas A&M).Apart from teaching it, I use MATLAB extensively with its tool boxes on a very regular basis as a Mechanical Engineering student.

Mechanical Engineering

I am a Doctorate student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where I also graduated with a Masters degree. Two Bachelor's degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering gave me a very a strong scientific and Engineering background. I have acquired teaching experience serving as a graduate teaching assistant for courses such as Statics, Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics 1&2, Numerical methods, Engineering Analysis(EA), General Physics, and Physics 1&2. I have also served as Math and science tutor at Northwest Vista college.

R

I took a graduate class in Advanced Data Analytics where R was used as the main software tool.
I used R for my final project to do a statistical study of study salaries of university professors. I earned an A grade for this project.

Great physics tutor, patient and knowledgeable.

Helped me a lot in learning and figuring out physics problems and went over and beyond what I thought he'd help me with. I will definitely call him again and recommend him to others.
