Welcome! I am a certified teacher with six years experience. Thank you for considering me as your tutor! I completed my degree at the University of Texas at Austin in Early Childhood-6th Grade Education, as well as an English as a Second Language certification. I have taught 2nd grade, 1st grade, Kindergarten and Pre-k. Additionally, I tutor 4th grade students. I have ample experience in teaching students who are learning English and students with learning difficulties. In 2022, I was awarded by my school district for the top 15% of growth in Kindergarten reading on a state assessment. I believe that readers are leaders! I love seeing students grow into successful, motivated learners. Lessons with little learners included movement and brain breaks as needed!
I teach using the gradual release model, which means I show one or more examples of the skill followed by monitored practice by the student and finally, the student practices the skill independently. This research-based method of teaching yields results for all learners. When scheduling a tutoring session with me, please share the specific skills that you would like your student to work on. It is a good idea to ask your child's teacher about this, if he or she is in school. If you don't know a specific skill that your student needs help with, please share specific goals that you have for your student. I am here to troubleshoot these goals or areas of concern with you!
Again, thank you for considering me as your child's tutor. I look forward to partnering with you to help your student grow!
