Hi, I'm Luis! I graduated cum laude in Biochemistry from St. Edward's University. I graduated from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and I am currently a Resident Physician specializing in Family Medicine.
Helping students is something I have always enjoyed. I have tutored both college students and high school students and have found it very rewarding to see them achieve their goals. I take my role as a tutor seriously and I do my best to prepare useful and interesting lessons, while also tailoring instruction to each individual's knowledge and goals. I am very easy-going, personable, and friendly; I aim to provide an experience that is both educational and enjoyable!

I taught high school Chemistry and Physics for two years. I was a tutor for Biology and General Chemistry courses and teaching assistant for General/Analytical Chemistry labs for two years. I have successfully completed the MCAT, USMLE Steps 1 and 2, and COMLEX Levels 1, 2 and 3. For any premedical students, I can guide you on the material you will be learning in medical school as well as what classes are beneficial to take before starting medical school.

Please feel free to contact me if you need help in basic science concepts like mathematics, chemistry, biology, and medicine. I am also a native Spanish speaker if you are interested in learning and practicing Spanish. I look forward to working with you!

Elementary Education

Elementary Math,

Elementary Math

Math has always been my forte, and it has been an integral part of my studies in the natural sciences. My favorite class in high school was Calculus 1; it is fascinating how numbers can be applied to real-world problems to make amazing discoveries. I have many years of experience in tutoring and teaching chemistry and physics, both of which require mathematical thinking. I understand how difficult math can be for students, but I always try to think outside the box and explain things in new and fresh ways so that students can finally "get it" and acquire a firm grasp of this extremely important subject.
Homeschool,

Homeschool

My undergraduate major was in Biochemistry, where I also participated in biochemistry laboratory research. I tutored large group sessions for college students in biology and chemistry, and I was also a teaching assistant in general chemistry and analytical chemistry labs. In addition, I was a homeschool instructor for 5 students for two years before I went to medical school; one year I taught chemistry, and the next I taught physics. I really enjoy teaching students and breaking down difficult topics in a way that they are better able to understand and learn.
