Hello to all Students and Parents out there! I offer tutoring in my favorite subjects of reading, writing, and Microsoft Word. I consider myself qualified to be a tutor because I have done so in the past, freelance style! I placed an ad in the local newspaper addressing any students who needed help to contact me. I tutored high school students in my home. Also, I am a college graduate, a business major. I am an administrative assistant by day, and use the skills of reading and writing every day, which has given me extended knowledge on these subjects. I am the mother of 2 daughters and have endlessly helped them with homework, which I believe adds to my experience, not only in these subjects but in working with kids! Do you still have trouble reading? Is it hard to make sense of what you read? Let me help you listen, to yourself, to the words...and let me be the listener to help you through! A few simple steps to improve your reading and your enjoyment of doing so! Writing is my passion...whether it be creative, whether it be grammar, punctuation and the art of putting sentences together. Maybe punctuation makes no sense to you? Let me show you the fun, the art and the ease of all aspects of writing! Computers are a love of mine, I work on them everyday. We can learn the basics of Microsoft Word, and add a few tricks! Please know that I am responsible, sincere and have had many years in the workforce practicing all of these subjects. I enjoy helping people, and like to do so on a personable level. A desire to learn is all I require! I'm a single mom, down to earth, and I believe that learning is the key to so much in life! I promise 100% in every tutoring session, and I will always want your feedback. Hope to hear from you soon, so we can embark down the trail of learning and clarity!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated from college with a degree in Business. This subject covers topics from presentation, resume writing, interviewing skills, business practices in regards to office co-workers, social skills, workplace etiquette, the do's and don'ts of an office, social skills, letter writing, proofreading, office machines, public relations and good business practice in general. I am well experienced in all of these areas, not only because of my college degree, but because of 25 years of hands on experience running an office.
This general course of study as well as this age group is an area I am experienced in. Not only have I experienced teaching this age group through my own kids, but I have volunteered in schools with this age group. Finding a simple but interesting way to keep their attention and at the same time teach them, is key at this age. The basics of fundamental reading, writing, spelling and refining motor skills are my specialty for this age group.
Windows is something I use everyday at the office I work in. I'd be interested in being certified in this subject. I'm an admin assistant to a Judge, and everyday I'm using windows either for documents or spreadsheets, or e-mail. I learned to use Windows through hands on experience, starting about 20 years ago, and still use it today.
