I am an energetic and dedicated teacher with a Texas educator certificate in Spanish (early childhood through 12th grades) and an English as Second Language (ESL) certification with great experience teaching both online and in-person. I currently teach high school Spanish 1 and 2 at Central High School on Oaks. I specialize in differentiating lessons so that all students with a variety of learning styles and needs are able to learn. I also serve on a committee composed of several teachers selected by the school principal as a mentor to first year teachers.

I have previously taught Spanish and ESL in Argyle ISD and was teacher of the year nominee for the 2015-2016 and 2018-2019 school years, among other recognitions. I have taught levels 1 through 4 in my ten years of teaching, including pre AP (now called Honors) and AP levels. I have served as the LOTE Department Chair for several years and have served as interpreter for Spanish speaking parents at my schools. I attend ongoing professional development courses (at LEAST 150 hours every 5 years to qualify to renew my teaching certifications) and volunteer 1-2 hours per week of ESL tutoring to adults in my community during the summers.
