My name is Maria, I am a Spanish Tutor. I like to work with people who want to excel themselves and work with their personal abilities, I also like working with children, I have been a Bilingual Substitute for KISD since May of 2008 and enjoy the experiences working with children here at KISD, where I have been a long-term sub working with 3rd graders. I also have been tutoring a 1st grade student who is struggling in reading and Math. He has progressed rapidly. I have a Masters degree in Business Administration from my native country and also hold a Bachelor’s degree in human resources. I am flexible with schedules as well as with personalities. I can adjust easily to changes and, above all, I am patient, dedicated and very respectful toward the needs of adults and children.

Maria is a very well rounded instructor. She pulls from a variety of sources and I appreciate that. My only challenge is keeping up. But she constantly encourages me and persuades me to dig deep and pursue my goal of learning Spanish.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
