About Jonathan

Students and or Parents:

Please note: I only offer sessions online via WyzAnt's platform. I used to do in-person but I found this to be a much better experience all around for both parties. The first session is free so I can show you how great the online option is!

Thank you for reviewing my profile. I have over 5-years of experience tutoring subjects such as Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus (all areas), Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Physics with outstanding results! Historically, if any student sticks with me for a few hours per week, during the semester, they easily finish the course with an A or at least a high B.

My goal in life is to help students understand complex material with ease. I intend on pursuing a career as a math/physics professor. This means you will likely not find someone as dedicated to understanding the information and reiterating as I am.

I ensure my utmost attention to every student I work with i.e. I make myself available outside of sessions via text/email for any questions a student may have while studying, I offer additional sessions during exam weeks (per bulk tutoring option), and I have thousands of free resources I have created via my YouTube channel, website, and books I have written on the topics. All of which are free with my services.

Thank you again and I look forward to assisting you!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

Pre-algebra, Algebra I, and Algebra II are probably the most important math classes one will take. It is essential that one understands at least 90% of the material in these subjects before moving on to Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus... One can get a good grasp of these classes with less understanding; one cannot, however, begin to approach these classes without the proper foundation.

I have been helping students improve their test scores on average 30% for over two years now. I have an ability to reiterated what most people perceive as complicated in a simple fashion which allows one to absorb the concept properly.

These three subjects, if going into a science degree, are more important that anything else; it is essential that one has a superb understanding of them.

Calculus

I have multiple years of experience working through hundreds of different levels and variations of Calculus courses at the college level ranging from basic business calculus courses to advanced engineering. I have written and published a few preparatory books, guides and crash courses on calculus and have produced thousands of educational videos via YouTube.

Calculus is the alphabet of science and algebra is the grammar. A Student must learn to write stories in order to succeed. In a Calculus and any other upper division course, the answer to a problem is not important, it is the solution and the solution must be written with the utmost precision. I can help prevent serious point-loss on exams due to incorrect mathematical grammar and show what material to focus on in order to gain maximum potential for higher grades. To date: I have solved approximately 50,000 calculus problems.

Differential Equations

Differential equations is not a difficult class, in fact if one knows how to do Calculus proficiently and understands how to "plug-and-chug" a formula DE is a breeze. I took this class over a 4 week summer course while working full time and passed it with flying colors.

As a tutor this course is the most simple to reiterate to students. I currently am working with a company on applying a transform of a first order Differential Equation with other functions involving the PID method an inputting the Laplace Transformation in order to complete a looping energy flow as a mathematical description as a second order Differential Equation.

If you are concerned about this class, you should not be. As long as your Calculus is good this class will be a breeze. I can show you how easy it is.

Linear Algebra

I have over two years of Linear Algebra experience ranging from business applications, engineering applications, and physics applications, and have created youtube videos geared towards tutoring the subject.

I have helped many students at the University of Dallas take their grades in Linear Algebra from D's, F's and worse to either a passing grade or A's. Linear Algebra is a relatively new subject so many professors just do not have the curriculum down. I have taken many Linear Algebra courses, from simple to advanced, and I have learned what is important to point out to beginners so that they do not get lost in the subject and can keep up with the course as it progresses.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry next to Algebra, is the next most important subject as a up and coming scientist. If one is going into science related mathematics, it is crucial that they fully understand trigonometry. If one can comprehend the theories in Trig it will make the latter classes, i.e. physics, calculus… so much easier to understand and approach. I have hundreds of hours of working with trigonometric functions and concepts. If this is a subject you seem to be struggling with, I will simplify it for you.

First online session ever. Loved it!

I actually booked this online lesson by mistake. I wanted an in-person session but I thought I should give it a try. I Experienced the online lesson for the first time and I loved it! I used to do in-person lessons and sometimes I need to drive to see the tutor but the online tutoring is way better and more convenient. I was in my room the whole time and learned more than I thought I would. The pl
