Thank you for considering me as you tutor. I have over 7-years of experience providing top-of-the-line service for hundreds of students taking college level mathematics, and physics. I also have a popular YouTube channel with thousands of free lessons as well as books that I have written available for free to my students.

I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis of pure math, and am currently in graduate school for mathematics. I love to explain complex information, and am able to do this in a simple fashion that students respond to very quickly.

Generally, students that follow my instructions outside of sessions, get an A in the course i.e. my help reduces study time significantly and maximizes understanding efficiently but if the student does not still do some work outside of sessions, they tend to not do as well on exams.

I prefer students to not just solve a bunch of problems but to take biweekly exams that I assign based on what I feel will be assigned on exams.

Students always say "I am just not good at taking exams," but how often do they actually take exams? I.e. in order to get good at something one must practice that something so I base my tutoring off of this concept.

“The most important grades come from exams, so that is what the student should be practicing more than anything!”

Thanks again for checking out my profile. I look forward to making your semester a breeze!

Please note that I only tutor online via Skype i.e. no in-person visits. I have found that online tutoring is far more effective and time friendly for both parties for multitude of reasons. If you are unsure of an online session -- I am more than willing to offer a free 30-minute meet-and-greet so I can show you how it works.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Pre-algebra, Algebra I, and Algebra II are probably the most important math classes one will take. It is essential that one understands at least 90% of the material in these subjects before moving on to Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus... One can get a good grasp of these classes with less understanding; one cannot, however, begin to approach these classes without the proper foundation. I have been helping students improve their test scores on average 30% for over two years now. I have an ability to reiterated what most people perceive as complicated in a simple fashion which allows one to absorb the concept properly. These three subjects, if going into a science degree, are more important that anything else; it is essential that one has a superb understanding of them.
Calculus,

Calculus

I have multiple years of experience working through hundreds of different levels and variations of Calculus courses at the college level ranging from basic business calculus courses to advanced engineering. I have written and published a few preparatory books, guides and crash courses on calculus and have produced thousands of educational videos via YouTube. Calculus is the alphabet of science and algebra is the grammar. A Student must learn to write stories in order to succeed. In a Calculus and any other upper division course, the answer to a problem is not important, it is the solution and the solution must be written with the utmost precision. I can help prevent serious point-loss on exams due to incorrect mathematical grammar and show what material to focus on in order to gain maximum potential for higher grades. To date: I have solved approximately 50,000 calculus problems.
Physics,

Physics

Originally, I was a physics major and in my senior year I decided to change to mathematics. I have completed many physics courses and a library of over 500 video lessons of calculus based physics. I have also been tutoring students in physics for about 4-years now with great success. All of my students went from a failing grade to an A or B.

Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

Differential equations is not a difficult class, in fact if one knows how to do Calculus proficiently and understands how to "plug-and-chug" a formula DE is a breeze. I took this class over a 4 week summer course while working full time and passed it with flying colors. As a tutor this course is the most simple to reiterate to students. I currently am working with a company on applying a transform of a first order Differential Equation with other functions involving the PID method an inputting the Laplace Transformation in order to complete a looping energy flow as a mathematical description as a second order Differential Equation. If you are concerned about this class, you should not be. As long as your Calculus is good this class will be a breeze. I can show you how easy it is.
Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

I have over two years of Linear Algebra experience ranging from business applications, engineering applications, and physics applications, and have created youtube videos geared towards tutoring the subject. I have helped many students at the University of Dallas take their grades in Linear Algebra from D's, F's and worse to either a passing grade or A's. Linear Algebra is a relatively new subject so many professors just do not have the curriculum down. I have taken many Linear Algebra courses, from simple to advanced, and I have learned what is important to point out to beginners so that they do not get lost in the subject and can keep up with the course as it progresses.

Trigonometry,

Trigonometry

Trigonometry next to Algebra, is the next most important subject as a up and coming scientist. If one is going into science related mathematics, it is crucial that they fully understand trigonometry. If one can comprehend the theories in Trig it will make the latter classes, i.e. physics, calculus… so much easier to understand and approach. I have hundreds of hours of working with trigonometric functions and concepts. If this is a subject you seem to be struggling with, I will simplify it for you.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor!

Excellent tutor! He helped me understand concepts I was struggling with in ODE and did so on short notice. I will definitely seek out his help in the future. Thank you, Jonathan!

Amazing Tutor

He taught me more about differential equations in one session than my professor did in 3 weeks. He has very good handwriting and is very knowledgeable. He gives great explanations and is a super nice guy. I would highly recommend.

Calculus 2

After our tutor session with Jonathan, my son said "Jonathan is SOO good! He knows everything about everything!! Recommend him to everyone!!" I wish I could rate him ABOVE a 5! Also, even though we were a bit unsure about on-line tutoring, it went so well that my son now prefers on-line tutoring.

Totally awesome!

Jonathan rocks! Took the time to help me with each of my questions no matter how lost I got or how many times he had to repeat himself, he didn't make me feel embarrassed to be struggling with math

Passionate and extremely knowledgable

Jonathan is a great tutor. His wide ranging knowledge allows him to show how to solve problems from multiple angles angles and cater to a students preferred method of understanding. He cannot only show you how to solve a problem but, if interested, can show you the intuitions behind the methods used in solving a problem. I highly recommend this tutor.

First online session ever. Loved it!

I actually booked this online lesson by mistake. I wanted an in-person session but I thought I should give it a try. I Experienced the online lesson for the first time and I loved it! I used to do in-person lessons and sometimes I need to drive to see the tutor but the online tutoring is way better and more convenient. I was in my room the whole time and learned more than I thought I would. The platform is easy to use and great to show solutions and explanation. I can upload or write anything I wanted easily. The way Jonathan teaches is really helpful and easy to follow. He also has online videos that will help as well in case you get stuck on something after the session. He offered extra help without charging me and I thank him for that. Overall, I'm really glad I did the online session and will continue to have online tutoring sessions with Jonathan. You guys should give it a try. I'm very impressed.

Great Teacher

Jonathan really helped me in calculus. Its incredibily difficult to find good teachers like him. He explains everything very well and the problems he uses to explain are very helpful too.
