I am an experienced art teacher. I taught art for 9 years in the public school system. I then went back to school to earn my Master of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting. As a lifelong student of art I continue to read and study art history and art theory. I now teach drawing, art appreciation, and sometimes painting as an adjunct professor of art. I enjoy the study and creation of art as well as sharing my knowledge of it. I thrive on a balance of my own studio practice and working with students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am extremely qualified to tutor the subject of drawing as I have two art degrees. The first, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts studies, is an art major with an art education minor, and the second is a Master of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting. Not only do I have extensive experience drawing but I also have been educated to teach art and have been doing so for about 20 years.
