Hello, my name is Josh! I'm currently a college student who majors in genetics and needs to be able to pay housing. I absolutely love science, and I hope to share that passion with everyone who will let me. As of last semester, I was tutoring college students in Biology 1, Chemistry 1, and Calculus 1, as well as high school students in Algebra 2 and Chemistry. One of my favorite things in the world is the spark that someone gets when he/she makes the connections and understands the subject that seemed impossible just moments before. My goal is to make this spark occur as quickly as possible while also presenting the information in a way that can be easily remembered.

I can tutor in a very wide variety of subjects which range from math to science to English and even Spanish! I hope to help everyone who comes to me better understand anything that they need to learn and to have the brightest future possible. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me and I will respond as soon as possible.

I have always excelled in mathematics. I've breezed through most every math class that I've taken, with the most recent being Calculus. I have helped several students, ranging from a freshman in high school to a freshman in college with Algebra. Most notably, I had student taking Algebra who had to have back surgery, causing him to miss 2-3 months of school. He said that I was the best tutor he's ever had and that all of his grades turned out great, even after being gone from school for such a long time!

The first semester of college Biology and Chemistry are both classes that are intended to be incredibly difficult due to the fact that the majority of students taking those classes want to be doctors of some sort. I passed both of the aforementioned classes with an A. In fact, I did so well that my Biology professor exempted me from taking the final, which is nearly unheard of in college! Additionally, I would constantly score the highest grade on all of our tests for both classes. I have a hefty amount of experience tutoring high school Chemistry and I regularly have students approach me and ask for my help. In most cases, they are very confused and do not know what they are going over in class. However, in no time at all, the students have a solid understanding of the concept and are prepared for a test. An example of this occurred a couple of months ago. I had a student come to me the night before a quiz. She did not understand anything about the subject that they were covering. We went over the information for less than an hour and she did so well on her quiz that her teacher gave her an extra 15 points towards her next test grade.

I come from a Hispanic bloodline, so Spanish has been spoken around me since I was born. In order to supplement this, I took an additional 4 years of Spanish in high school. While I am not 100% fluent, I still have a very strong understanding of the language and can easily hold conversations.

My schedule is extremely flexible. Unless a specific event occurs, I am free all day every Saturday and Sunday, every weekday from 5:30 pm and on, and for a couple of extra hours based on the specific day of the week. I am always checking my phone, so I will be able to reply very quickly to any requests I receive.
