University of Illinois at Chicago (Master's)
I am a Faculty reviewer for GME (Graduate Medical Education) Core Curriculum at the Department of Medical Education, University of Illinois at Chicago (DME-UIC). I maintain active involvement in the accreditation of graduate medical education programs based on the 15 general competencies identified by the ACGME (American College of Graduate Medical Education).
Having a Masters in Health Professions Education, teaching the medical students (undergraduate and graduate) is my passion. I specialize in tutoring science (Anatomy, Physiology, Biology, and Microbiology) subjects.
I enjoy a student-centered approach while teaching the students, as I believe in teacher’s role as a facilitator. With immense knowledge available and accessible to our students at the expense of just a “CLICK”, our role as educators has advanced. I believe we need to inspire our students to take ownership in their own learning in order for them to become independent lifelong learners. As educators, we still need to provide opportunities for students to learn key concepts and discover tools that they need for learning. I believe we learn with each other and from each other.
To ensure a productive learning environment, I opt to conduct my sessions at the Plano Public (Haggard, Davis, Schimelpfenig) library. I try to be flexible with time; however I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy. I understand at times we cannot make it to our appointments on time.
Looking forward to some fun learning together.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
