Hello! My name is Ryan and, for the past year, I have been working as an assistant proofreader to a freelance author who writes on topics primarily dealing with the Astronomical sciences and has been published in numerous magazines, USA Today being one of notoriety, Academic journals, and is a member of many professional, academic, and non-academic organizations. I will graduate Summa Cum Laude, the highest GPA distinction, from University in early August 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature.
In the near future, I plan on applying to teach abroad in countries like Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, so tutoring English related subjects will not only provide me with an opportunity to further expand the skills I developed as an English major – how to explain and articulate often difficult and speculative concepts in a concise manner that any age group can understand – but will also serve as a stepping stone towards a career path about which I am passionate.
I look forward to tutoring you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have recently completed all of my undergraduate coursework for an English major at the University of North Texas where I graduated with the highest GPA distinction, Summa Cum Laude. I have extensive experience with English writing instruction from both my academic and professional career: academically, I instructed my fellow peers by providing feedback for English writing techniques such as style, general rules of composition, and grammar on multiple essay drafts in various subject matters, and in return, I received extensive feedback from my professors and peers on my essays; professionally, my current position as a proofreader and editor for a freelance author has solidified the rules and principles of English Rhetoric, which I learned throughout my academic career. I have a fluent understanding of William Strunk JR. and E.B. White's canonical, The Elements of Style, fourth edition, and I am eager to start teaching as soon as possible.
