My name is Lesli B. and I have been teaching Special Education since 1999. I am certified in EC-4th grade, ESL EC-12th grade and Special Education EC-12th grade.

I have taught in both the private and public schools and have had great success working with children in both a group setting and one-on-one. I have had my own tutoring business as well, and I have owned my own learning center for children diagnosed on the autism spectrum.

I have a great passion for teaching children of various ages and abilities. I use a multi-sensory approach to learning and believe that learning and having fun go hand in hand!

I understand the frustrations and challenges that children face in school and I have been diagnosed with ADHD myself. I believe that my own challenge with ADHD allows me to empathize and provide the tools necessary for any child's success! It is important that parents are an integral part of the tutoring process and parents are their child's best advocate.

Positive and Focused

Lesli stays focused, and makes good use of the time spent with both my daughter and my son. She is amazingly patient and explains concepts to them in a way that they understand. She has improved their self esteem by showing them ways that they can succeed. She not only teaches the material but study skills and methods that will work for any class. She is also very flexible and is willing to work around our busy schedule.

Great with kids with challenges!

Lesli not only helped our son with the subject we initially contact her for, but she was invaluable to us as we worked with the school for accommodations and other support ideas. Lesli was great and very encouraging with our son as she explored various techniques to help decide what would be best for his learning. I would recommend Lesli to anyone needing help, especially for kids with any learning challenges.

Awesome!

Even with just one class with you and I am enlightened soo much!! Yes...it is a distance to drive, but I cannot see seeking another person; you know your stuff and you know how to teach it to laymen as myself. I would love being able to continue with you!!

Great motivator!

My son looks forward to each tutoring session with Lesli and actually ASKS for additional tutoring time. He seems to be making improvements in his math consistency, showing his work, and understanding concepts. Lesli has unending patience and truly understands how to work with an Aspergers child (autism spectrum). She breaks the work into small sections, with mini-breaks, to accommodate his ADHD as well.
