I have more than 2 decades of experience (K-highschool)in the classroom and tutoring (general education and special ed). I enjoy teaching students of all ages (including college age). I believe that math should be meaningful and will help my students see how math connects to the real world. My focus is always on understanding concepts rather than simply knowing how to get the answers. I can help struggling students figure out the gaps in their skills and prevent future difficulties. I am currently teaching high school geometry in Plano, but I can tutor evenings and Saturdays in Plano, Allen and McKinney areas.

She listens carefully to understand the questions and explains the material in a easy to follow manner. It was a great experience.
She is genuinely concerned with helping the student succeed. An excellent geometry teacher. She was flexible in meeting with us which was so helpful when schedules got busy.
Ingrid is helping our son get ready for the ISEE test. She is very patient, does a great job explaining material and is putting together a plan to help Daniel prepare for the test. This was only our first session, but am confident we are headed in the right direction.
Ingrid helped my 16 year old son with Algebra. My son was so pleased with what you taught him. He actually said to me. I like her and I learned something. She was better than the other tutor. Thank you again. If we ever need services again we will be in contact.
Ingrid was very thorough and accommodating, she helped clarify and established good rapport with me and a timeline for success. Would continue to use her in the future.
Ingrid seems to be a good fit for my daughter. Since we started the sessions late in the semester, my daughter knows not to expect the scores on her psat she would like, but is very satisfied with the difference that two sessions with Ingrid have made. I think we are off to a good start.
My son's grades markedly improved after only a few lessons. She is so worth it. We decided to keep her long term and now doing 2 hours a week. She is patient, pleasant and very knowledgeable. My son is extremely satisfied and looks forward to her lessons. I highly recommend her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught Algebra 1 for many years. My experience is with all levels but I am drawn to students with learning differences. I can build students' confidence in themselves and help them be better problem solvers. I can identify skill gaps and work to fill those to improve performance in algebra.
I have taught students grades K - high school. I also have many years experience writing math activities and assessments for elementary. I have a special interest in early number development as well. I believe that we must help students acquire number sense.
I taught 5th grade math for about 16 years in Plano. During that time I was a math specialist for the district and was involved in curriculum writing and mentoring teachers. I have also taught Kindergarten and 4th grade.
I am currently teaching geometry. I love geometry because it requires logical reasoning. It is a very visual subject and I am a very visual learner and teacher. Geometry problems are based on figures and real-world applications. I can help students make sense of those postulates and theorems!
As a high school algebra and geometry I know what skills are required to be successful in high school. I have experience teaching a pre-algebra class and have tutored kids to get them ready for algebra.
I can help students prepare study material and practice study skills to prepare for tests. My expertise is in math of all levels. I believe that prior knowledge frequently gets lost when learning new material. By supporting new learning with acquired skills, students do better on tests!
