“**Great test preparation**”

I feel fortunate to have tutored and taught high school math, SAT, ACT, PSAT, GRE and GMAT prep for the past ten years. My approach is to create a positive and supportive environment to help students succeed. By breaking a math problem down into smaller, more manageable steps, I can help identify issues and create a plan for resolving them.

With just an hour, Susan was able to answer questions and prepare our son for his test the next day and the test was a success!

Susan is a wonderful teacher that helped my daughter achieve a 36 on ACT math, a 35 on ACT science, and a 680 on the SAT math in a very short time frame. Susan was extremely patient and didn't move on until she was sure my daughter understood the concept. My daughter understood math well, but struggled with time management. Susan had many difficult problems from the numerous books she has, and taught her different approaches to solve these problems. She found her weaknesses and tackled them adeptly. The results found in 4 to 5 sessions were amazing. I highly recommend Susan for the ACT and SAT tests.

Susan is an amazing teacher. She takes the time to teach, and make sure the lesson is

understood. We are very impressed and grateful that we found her. Our daughter respects, and

likes her.

Susan is lovely to work with, knowledgeable and patient. My child enjoys working with her and appreciates her ability to explain math problems in different ways to find the one way that makes the most sense to my child. Susan has also been supremely understanding when we need a little flexibility and she's always dependable.

My daughter had many people try to help her explain some concepts she was not quite getting in geometry; and was getting very dejected about it - and so we resorted to WyzAnt, and found Susan, who has taught at my daughter's same school in the past.

She not only was helpful, but she provided another angle in explaining the concepts that immediately "clicked" with my child during each session! She was patient, and we are very appreciative, and will continue to use Susan's tutoring skills! Also, her pleasant demeanor is a plus.

Susan is tutoring my daughter in Pre-AP Algebra 2. I was impressed by her ability to quickly determine my daughter's comprehension of the material. When it was clear that my daughter did not understand she immediately took a step back and re-built the foundation of the required material needed to move forward. She re-enforced the subject matter by giving her problems to work which they would review together.

Susan takes the time to prepare for the tutoring sessions and has reference material and practice problems available. Her in-depth knowledge of math and teaching makes for a very focused and effective tutoring session. Other tutors maybe able to help with homework problems but Susan conveys the knowledge at a level that my daughter understands and maximizes her retention.

I would highly recommend Susan.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am experienced in ACT Math Prep and a Certified Math teacher.

Algebra 2 is now a fundamental component of the 2016 revised SAT, so success in this course can help both your GPA and your SAT score! Double bonus for college entrance requirements.

I'm a certified teacher in Texas for Math 8-12 and taught in Plano ISD for several years. I view Algebra 2 as a pivotal course - for some students it's the final math course they'll take in high school and for others, it's the gateway to future math success in high school Pre-Calculus and Calculus courses. Either way, I can help your student be successful.

Calculus is a new and different kind of math for most students and I enjoy helping them discover it and make sense of it. Surprisingly for most students, with a little bit of help, they often find it easier than Pre-AP Precalculus.

Calculus has so many real world applications, as I discovered when doing my degree in Electrical Engineering, so I find it exciting to introduce students to this amazing subject.

I'm a certified math high school teacher in Texas and taught math in the Plano ISD for 5 years.

As a certified math grades 8-12 teacher, I taught both Geometry and Pre-AP Geometry for almost five years in Plano ISD. From experience, I know what concepts students tend to have difficulty with and how to make these concepts easier. I like to use a lot of diagrams and colors to help visual learners and also to explain tough concepts to all students. During tutorial sessions, I use manipulatives and models to help those who have difficulty with spatial awareness.

Most geometry curriculum is algebra-based, so success in geometry depends not only on understanding geometric concepts, but also on having a good foundation in basic algebra. I also have a lot of experience tutoring students in algebra, so I work on strengthening algebra skills while solving geometry problems.

The GMAT quantitative (math) test can be quite a challenge for those who haven't had a math class in a while. The good new is that the test involves only basic Algebra and Geometry concepts. The bad news is that the questions can be very difficult and calculator use is not permitted, so calculations have to be done by hand - yes, fractions too!

In addition to tutoring, I've been developing and teaching GMAT math classes at the University of Texas at Dallas for several years. I enjoy sharing strategies about how to choose answer choices more accurately and quickly and helping students dust off the math skills they haven't had to use in many years.

The GRE quantitative (math) test can be a challenge , especially for those who haven't had a math class in a while. The good new is that the test involves only basic Algebra and Geometry concepts. The bad news is that the questions can be very difficult and asked in an unfamiliar manner.

In addition to tutoring, I've been developing and teaching GRE math classes at the University of Texas at Dallas for several years. I enjoy sharing strategies about how to choose answer choices more accurately and quickly and helping students shore up the basic math principles they might not have had to use in a while.

I've been tutoring Precalculus for several years and find it one of the most interesting math courses to tutor. Part of the course is an amplified version of Algebra 2 and the other part is completely new, with trigonometric functions and the unit circle. It can also be the most challenging high school math courses a student takes, more challenging than AP Calculus for some.

I'm a certified math teacher and taught high school math for Plano ISD for 5 years, so am familiar with the sequencing and material in the high school curriculum, including the recent changes introduced in 2015.

I've tutored SAT math since 2004 and currently develop and teach SAT math courses at the University of Texas at Dallas.

A lot has changed with the SAT math test since the March 2016 revision, so it now includes Algebra 2 and a bit of Pre-calculus. After doing a brief assessment with a student, I hone in on which math fundamentals require strengthening and provide supplemental material for learning new information and practicing it. I also focus on strategies to help students choose the correct multiple choice answer more quickly and accurately.
