I provide all
I am a business teacher by profession and work with corporations all over the world and as such, have very high expectations of those teaching me something; particularly a subject as complicated and grueling as the Russian language.
Although I have only had one lesson with Olha, not only has she met my expectations, she has far exceeded them. Olha is a great teacher and displays not only knowledge of the Russian language, but compassion and empathy.
I highly recommend her for future students.
My 12 year old daughter and I are taking the lessons together and Olha is very patient with the both of us. Can't wait for our next lesson!
She makes learning a very different language from English fun! The lessons are encouraging and yes, you WILL be reading words in Russian by your second lesson!
Olha has such in depth understanding of the Russian language that she effectively teaches the language to her students while making lessons a fun and pleasurable experience. She takes a personal interest in tailoring lessons and exercises to the level and goals of her students. I recommend her highly.
This was my first formal lesson. I am very pleased and encouraged to learn my new language. Olha knew exactly what the hang ups would be for English speakers learning the Russian alphabet and was very helpful explaining each of the differences in detail and with examples I could understand. Excellent!!
She is very patient and helpful. Knows what she is doing. We have a 16 year old boy we adopted from the Ukraine who is struggling with learning English and she has been wonderful with him!
I only had about 6 weeks to learn some basic russian. But with Olha it was possible. I know about 100 words and i am confident that my upcoming trip to Russia will be great because i have some russian knowledge. She really shares all that she knows - culture, food, language. She also has great material to use with students. Very patient.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Although I was born and raised in the Ukraine, I studied English for 13 years; 10 years at a private school and then another 3 years at the Pedagogical University where I earned duel degrees in History and Psychology. Additionally, I have taken and passed the Test of Spoken English required to acquire a teaching certificate in Texas.
Prior to moving to the United States, I gave private lessons for persons who desired to learn the English language as well as tutored students learning English in school. Here in the United States I currently offer private tutoring in both English as a Second Language and Russian to those who desire to learn it.
Because I have had to learn a second language and adapt to a new country where that language is the primary spoken language, I know how difficult it can be to learn the nuances and idioms of another language. It has been frustrating at times, and I know that each student experiences different levels of anxiety when learning. But I can tell you from experience, it is wonderful to be able to speak more than one language and something you will never regret.
I am here to help and encourage you to do your best and learn English as quickly as you are able. This is why I sit with each student at the beginning of his or her lessons and discuss your goals and present knowledge. Lesson plans are then tailored to each student so as to continually evaluate your learning, target weaknesses, and to maximize the educational experience.
If you are interested in learning Russian or Ukrainian languages, correct pronunciation and spelling, then there is no better way to learn it then to learn it from a native speaker.
I went to private school in Ukraine where I studied Ukrainian, Russian and English for 10 years. Then I studied in Pedagogical University for 5 years, where I attended Russian and Russian literature classes. So, I am a teacher and a native born Russian and I am willing to teach you this language.
