I am a faculty member at Collin County Community College teaching general chemistry and organic chemistry lab and lecture courses for the last five years. I have teaching experience in a variety of environments which include a university setting, a college setting and a high school setting. I am comfortable and experienced in working with teenage students and also older students who are pursuing any type of change in careers.
My teaching philosophy includes but is not limited to: teaching less motivated students and bringing out the best in them along with the ones who are motivated and eager to learn, laying a solid foundation and setting specific short term goals keeping long term goals in perspective is my style of teaching. I do change and adapt my teaching style based on the requirements of the students. Dr Sudha is amazing. Had her for gen chem 2. Very knowledgeable and knows how to relay the info to her student which I think is fantastic. I would recommend her anytime.
With how busy kids are today, finding time for a tutor is often very difficult. Sudha was willing to work with my daughter on Sunday mornings early so she could get it out of the way. She was also willing to work in her home which was great because it was close to our home. My daughter said she was a great help with AP Chem. She prepared for the SAT Subject test and the AP Chem test. She was responsive to our calls and emails too. A great experience. Thank you.
Sudha was tutoring my son with chemistry last year. She is a very patient and dedicated instructor with an evident gift for teaching. He improved his grades dramatically in a very short time. He told us that he “gets it” when she explains problems to him. We were extremely happy with the results and we will recommend her to everybody who needs help with chemistry.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
General Chemistry deals with structure of atoms, electronic configuration in atoms and the effect of electronic arragement on reactions. Other topics include stoichiometry, thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, chemical equilibria, electrochemistry, etc.
I have been teaching General and Organic chemistry courses at a two-year college for the last 8+ years. Among those years I have taught Organic Chemistry- I and Organic Chemistry - II lecture and lab courses multiple times. I have used the online home work systems in my College Freshman and Sophomore classes along with other intro to chemistry type of courses. I have also trained students to take the American Chemical Society standardized test for General and Organic Chemistry courses.
My teaching method includes but not limited to mastering the subject first and then practicing for the test as this will let the students tackle any type of test or questions.
