Teaching is one of my passions, and I look forward to sharing that with as many people as possible each day. I have 10+ years of experience in teaching and tutoring. My experience includes teaching elementary school, middle school, and high school as well as college-level tutoring and adult tutoring. So, I've done it all!
It's always a joy to help others, and I really enjoy learning as well. I specialize in teaching people how to think critically and develop the tools to eventually help themselves and not need tutoring in the future. You won't be disappointed with my services!
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences, and I have over 10 years of Science tutoring and teaching experience. Biology and Chemistry are my specialties and my past students have enjoyed learning these subjects under my wing. I also have experience in Physics, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Genetics, and other sciences. Not only do I make lessons fun, but I produce great results!
I am a native English speaker and I am always complimented on my English acumen (both written and spoken). I took (and passed with flying colors) AP English through high school and I "tested out of" 2 years of college English (before starting college) via written tests and 10 page original essay submissions. Reading and writing are two of my hobbies, and I strive to share my love of reading with as many others as possible. Reading really is the key to good English skills.
With my 10+ years of teaching and tutoring experience, I've developed surefire ways to improve student study skills. These methods are time-tested and researched by experts in the field. My current and former students will be the first to tell you how much easier learning is with the right study skills.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I earned a 4.1 GPA from one of the toughest and most advanced high schools in the country. I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Biological Sciences with a 3.5 GPA. I was awarded the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certification in preparation for becoming a college, peer tutor. The certification required extensive training in tutoring strategies, learning styles, critical thinking, and study skills. It also included training in Cornell Note-Taking System which I have introduced to my students throughout my 10+ year teaching and tutoring career. Teaching proper study skills was also a part o f my teacher training through A+ Texas Teachers. In short, I have taught study skills throughout my 10+ years of tutoring and teaching and I have several years worth of training in the area.
