University of Texas at Austin (Natural Science Chem)
My name is Bo and I am 21 and of Asian descent. I am a senior at University of Texas at Austin. My field of study Natural Science Chemistry. Although I have no prior official tutoring jobs, I have had experience teaching. I was an active part of a tennis organization's coaching staff that provided a program to teach kids from 4 to 18, as well as an adult division. My focus was on the age groups ranging from 4-18; this experience helped me to understand how to communicate with people to allow them to have better grasp of tennis. I am able to peak interests in kids who were only there due to their parents and made them have real fun.
As a senior in my college, I have taken almost all of my core curriculum and many upper division courses. I have an overall GPA of 3.67/4.0 so I am well versed in the courses I have taken. My lack of experience of academic tutoring can be made up by my previous tennis coaching experience and combined with my fairy decent academic skills, I believe I am able to become a great tutor.
Math was one of my best subjects besides chemistry throughout my life. During the SAT, I scored a 780/800 on the math portion while my other 2 were lacking. I have taken algebra 1 in middle school and pre-calculus, calculus BC in high school. With my current coursework for my major, I have taken all other calculus classes, as well as applied differential equations. In all my math courses, I have received no lower than a A. I am able to make hard to understand concepts easier to understand with a few tricks.
I am a fellow student so I am around your age and know the inner workings of school very well. I am easy going and it'll be fun to hang out. If you got a hard time with something I'll definitely be able to help out. My name is Bo and I am 21 and of Asian descent. I am a senior at University of Texas at Austin. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
