university of Ibadan (Mechanical Engineer)
Certain subjects - Mathematics, English and Essay-writing have always come more natural to me than other subjects. And, over the years, I have honed my passion for educating through various teaching stints. I started off with teaching high school kids in my spare time, then helping out my peers when I was in college, before becoming a consultant at a GRE/SAT Prep institution and then blossoming into full-time safety trainer in my most recent full-time job.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and I have worked ten years as a safety professional in a multinational organisation. I am organised, insightful and dedicated to duty.
I do not encourage cramming; I strive to educate by drilling down problems to their most basic form. I have learnt from experience that there is always an uncomplicated approach to understanding numbers. I have aced almost every math course I have taken from primary school to college. And, I continue to showcase my grasp of the subject. I love numbers.
I am patient with my wards and I desire as much success for them as I would for myself. I have taken SAT and GRE scoring 1410/1600 and 2080/2400 respectively.
SAT subjects (out of 800) - Quantitative 750 (98th percentile); Verbal 660 (91st p.)
GRE subjects (out of 800) - Quantitative 790 (96th p.); Analytical 700 (86th p.); Verbal 590 (83rd p.)
If you think I'll be a great fit, let me know so that we can get started. Time is important when it comes to being prepared. I am available most weekday afternoons and evenings, and also during weekends. Certain subjects - Mathematics, English and Essay-writing have always come more natural to me than other
I had a overall distinction in Mathematics in primary and high schools. I was the best student in Mathematics in my class of Mechanical Engineering at College. I am very comfortable with numbers. And I teach students to be at ease solving problems even without the use of a calculator.
I studied Algebra to an advanced level in college. I have a lot of experience with numbers and I aim to bequeath my wards with the confidence to tackle Algebra problems.
I have taken the GRE before and scored quite well in Quantitative and Verbal sections. I do my homework before each teaching stint, trying to understand what challenges thr prospective student has and how we can work together to overcome them. I aim to instill confidence in test takers so that they can fearlessly approach exams.
I have taken the SAT before and scored quite well in Quantitative section (750/800 in the 98th percentile). Many students have a fear of mathematics. I try to help them understand that visualising the problem accurately is half way to the solution. I also try to get them to grasp the concepts of shortcuts so they can save time.
