Tutoring for me is so much more than a job for me; it is truly a passion of mine. In my 5+ years of tutoring people I have had the privilege of getting to see people achieve their goals for a semester and it is satisfying for me to be a part of the achievement!

I started tutoring in the fall of 2011 when I joined the Student Support Services staff at Texas State. I worked with students with learning disabilities (ADD, ADHD, OCD, blindness, and deafness) and met with the students once or twice a week throughout the semester. I spent two years (six semesters, including two summer semesters) working with well over 60 different students and during my time there I became a certified tutor. I became the most highly demanded tutor and did not have a problem filling up my available schedule while working there.

After two years at Student Support Services, I decided to become a private tutor and have since then worked both full-time and part-time as a tutor. Over the past two years, I have incorporated online tutoring to the type of tutoring that I can provide in order to reach out to people in the comfort of their homes. I still occasionally tutor people in person, but my preference is online tutoring because of the convenience and less traveling expenses.

I specialize in tutoring college core classes: physics, chemistry, stats, and all math classes. I tutor high school, middle school and homeschool students as well (science and math classes). I have great interpersonal skills along with years of experience working with students with learning disabilities, as mentioned earlier.

I am organized and I do not "wing it" with a tutoring session. Each tutoring session is carefully planned out just like how a teacher would plan out a lesson plan for the day. I assign homework for my students. This is to keep them active outside of our tutoring sessions and to make sure that the stuff we talk about is applied and practiced.

I have taken math courses all the way up to Calculus III. Despite my vast amount of math classes taken, I am able to communicate well to people who do not classify themselves as "math people". I am able to group different math concepts together and form a step-by-step guide on how to solve math problems. I can help you become a "math person"!

I have received all A's in my science classes (chemistry I and II, physics I and II, anatomy & physiology). I also have perfected a method to approaching any math-related science class that even the most math-challenged person out there can do to help get them through their class! My tutoring technique is to "take the science" out of the class and treat the class like a problem solving scenario. I have the same 3 steps for every single chemistry and physics question and it works!

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve your academic goals!
