Abilene Christian University (Music Education)
I received my bachelor's degree in 1973 from Abilene Christian University in Music Education. However, I remain a dedicated student of the education of History, English and Social Studies. I have owned my own insurance business since 1983 and I recruited, hired and trained agents in over 20 states. My wife and I own a tree farm in Northern Anderson County and are active in all outdoor activities that a tree farm and game ranch presents.
Although I have made my living as a business owner, I am mostly an avid listener and most active in learning life's lessons and their applications to one's own past and future. We raised a son and daughter to make decisions for themselves and lead productive lives in their chosen endeavors. So, if you enjoy the wisdom of learning through the application of its wisdom, let's get going to a brighter future in your studies together.
Randy Hello Students,

Randy is going on his second year teaching my two children their entire curriculum. The first year went great. We homeschool and send our completed work to a credited school. By the end of the second year we were called by the school we report to and told that they were not pleased at all with the way things were going. Not sure what had happened between the two years but, none of the instructions were followed by Randy. We had to let him go and now I am spending my summer summer schooling the highschool child just so she can get credit for the school year. I feel robbed. Not pleased at all! It has cost us an arm and a leg this school year and now I'm dedicating my summer to teaching.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a life member of the PGA Tour Partners club, I have participated and won trophies in various golf tournaments on championship courses such as Pebble Beach, TPC Sawgrass and Hilton Head. I also marshaled at the Colonial NIT in Fort Worth for over 25 years.
My handicap has been as low as 7. And I have taken various lessons from PGA professionals.
My vocation of directing and motivating a sales force demands a public persona. Plus interacting with clients one on one and conducting financial seminars to medium sized audiences. As an advocation, I have taught secular and non-secular classes, lead singing and even preached when called upon at a moment's notice. Also, my musical and drama background lends itself to my public speaking abilities.
Some say that wisdom is the application of knowledge. And so in the core curriculum, English, Math, History and Science, we need to apply the fundamentals of the subject in such a way as to broaden our intellect.
By exercising our understanding of subjects like English and Math, we can develop and speak the language of a given subject. For example, Math is, like English, a language. We can communicate with numbers and symbols just like we do with nouns and verbs.
In study skills that is exactly the lesson....to learn the skill of studying so as to expand and broaden the application of our knowledge in the core subjects of English, Math, History and Science.
And so for 60+ years, I am still striving for excellence in my speech. I am continuing to solve the problems of life with numbers. I am learning the lessons of the past so as not to repeat its mistakes. And I am amazed with the complexity of the universe and its treasures.
So, shall we begin this journey together?
