& Texas State University (English with Teacher Certification)
Hello! My name is Ms. Sam and I am looking to inspire my students! Reading, writing and English in general are my delight. Some positive feedback that I've received from previous students is that I make every session fun, I'm very helpful and my enthusiasm is contagious! It is important to me that I establish an academic relationship with my students by learning about how they learn, their strengths and weaknesses, and what they like and don't like so I can teach the way that my students learn. I'm looking forward to working with you!
I am truly passionate about the subject and I've been known to make my interests contagious. I am very good at learning how my students learn and explaining things in a way that they can understand the subject. One of my favorite things about tutoring is that I get to give students the one-on-one attention they need.
I have conducted my own writing program at the Public Library. I participated in almost all of the literacy programs held at the library while I was in high school. I have received countless awards in my English courses. I am a natural teacher and I have 3 years of tutoring experience under my belt!
My own academic record has given me a lot of the experience that I need to teach as well. I went through the International Baccalaureate Program and received an International Baccalaureate Diploma. I am continuing my education at the Texas State University with an English major and teacher certification. This means that I not only love to tutor but I'm planning to make a career out of it as a teacher!
Students, you should know that I truly care about your success. I am willing to do whatever it takes to help you in any way that I can. I will do my best to get to know you as my student and try to use what I learn about you to help you learn the material that you are struggling with. If it's reading, writing, or even just getting excited about English, we're in this together. I'm just a call away! Hello! My name is Ms. Sam and I am looking to inspire my students! Samantha has been a great help to my second grade grandson. He enjoys their sessions and her feedback is very helpful to us. I would sincerely recommend her as a tutor. She always has a smile on her face and patient with my grandson.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am an English major with a passion for literature, and have teaching experience in the subject (I work for Comal ISD and volunteer regularly in library literacy programs).
I work for the school district, and my primary responsibility is to help kids with reading homework. I am an avid reader and am studying to teach reading to Elementary students.
I am an International Baccalaureate Diploma holder. The IB is a rigorous and highly intensive academic program that requires acute study skills. The program required me to read heavily in every subject, study often, manage my time well and developed my analytical and writing skills tremendously. I finished the program with a 3.9 GPA. In addition, I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 9 so I am constantly jotting down organization/study skills lessons and tips.
