In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a former/current 504/Dyslexia Campus Administrator/Chair, my educational background experience consist of 15-20 years of identifying students as being at risk for dyslexia. When a student has been determined eligible for Dyslexia Program and Section 504, STAAR accommodations may be applicable. Accommodations will be routinely, independently, and effectively used during individual and during classroom instruction.
Technology integration for students identified with Dyslexia will be used beginning the 2013-2014 fiscal school year.
