Nobody can know everything, as good old Socrates said. Knowledge and understanding are based on the amount of experiences and people we are exposed to, and not how "smart" someone is. I am an extremely caring, open-minded individual looking forward to sharing and gaining experiences by teaching students on a one-to-one basis. I want to get to know the student and help him or her grow on an individual basis, so that he or she can get to know me and help me grow as a teacher and individual. Graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas, I studied under Arts and Humanities (History, Arts, Film, Philosophy, with a focus on Literature). I am currently pursuing my Masters at the University of Houston in English/American Literature. Having taught introductory college courses in Dallas, I have also had much practice with editing and revising essays throughout my undergraduate career. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
