He helped me with areas to study and material needed to go on the right direction for passing the test. Was here on time and friendly and easy to talk to. Because he was a GED instructor in the past he knows how to instruct on the material that will be on the actual test.
Chuck was very professional he explained everything in detail had no problem understanding the GED process was very informative with everything explained everything in detail.
Charles is a gracious tutor and gave Ty many resources to help with his future endeavours. Ty had a hard time thinking he could pass this year and the end of the year test. He is on the right track. Thank you very much.
My tutoring went great. Mr. T and I got a lot done and he was extremely helpful and very very encouraging! We are finished meeting.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As I already have a background both academically and experientially working with students with special needs, my area of greatest strength is tutoring students with dyslexia. I have over 30 graduate hours in special education to back this fact up as well as over twenty years of experience with students with this learning disability.
I have taught in the elementary grades since the early 1980s. I worked for three school districts in Galveston County Texas in subjects ranging from ESL to special education. I taught essential elements in most subject content areas. I have graduate level coursework from a major university as well as a Masters degree. My success rate is quite high.
I have been qualified in all levels for many years.
I am currently a GED instructor for Midland College and have been a tutor in it for thirty years. I can teach the new test for 2014.
In addition to the other language arts tutoring that I engage in, many years were spent teaching phonics in ESL as well as public school language courses, My transcripts in this area were earned from the University of Houston in Clear Lake City Texas. My expertise is from Pre-K through graduate school. Hundreds of students literally advanced one or more grade levels under my instruction.
I have 30 graduate hours in special education including visual, auditory, and numerous other special needs areas. My areas of greatest experience are dyslexia and autism. I subbed in 5 school districts in all these areas and worked for a short time in a high school as a teacher working with the profoundly retarded. My greatest attributed are compassion, patience and a highly developed ecletic teaching method with good results.
My experience in teaching study skills started in 1983 while teaching ESL study skills for College of the Mainland in La Marque Texas. Then I was with the Friendswood School District from 1987 to 1997 in the same capacity. With that and private tutoring, I taught k-12 study skills with mastering content area with special education included. Currently, I am in the G program at Midland College and did the same at San Jacinto College and four Houston area school districts. Study skills is part of those curriculi.
