I have many years of experience working with students. I started when I was 18 working in summer camps and child care and knew that I wanted to improve learning and confidence of students. I tutored through college for up to 4 different families. As my professional career in the classroom took off I reduced my tutoring hours.
I recently moved to Texas and am looking to continue my tutoring. my favorite part of tutoring is having the time to really focus on student needs. In the school setting many times we have to move on to different skills even when students are struggling. Tutoring allows you to focus on needed skills. Thanks for your consideration in hiring me!
I love to modify learning to meet various learning styles especially in math. Math allows you to bring in manipulatives and games while working on skills.
My past years of experience of working with special needs students allows me to assist in grammar instruction and understand where the student is struggling.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have prior experience with teaching students handwriting. Special Education teachers have to review these skills frequently with their students.
