Dawn has been a leader in the Information Technology (IT) field for more than 21 years. Computer training has always been one of her passions about IT. Her career began in corporate America as an IT Senior Management Consultant at Ernst & Young, LLP. It was there that Dawn received their Excellence Award for work done on a major SAP client. For over 14 years, Dawn has been the Information Technology Manager for a large church located in a suburb of Dallas.
Dawn is a Dallas native and currently resides in Mesquite, TX. She is a 1994 graduate of Baylor University where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a concentration in Information Systems and Quantitative Business Analysis. Dawn is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Human Resources: Training & Development from Amberton University. She is a Microsoft Master MOUS certified professional in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Dawn also loves creating winning resumes for people in need. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Within career development, I specifically create and enhance resumes. I can either modify your existing resume or create a winning resume from scratch. I will work with you on the content of the resume and create something that is appealing to employers and to you. I work best with college graduates of any age.
I have been working in the computer field for more than 16 years. I troubleshoot computer problems for a living. Let me know what your computer problem is and allow me to solve it professionally and quickly. If you need training about the computer, I can do that as well. I can train you on general computer terminology, parts, and usage from beginner to advanced.
I am most comfortable with MS Excel and MS Word since I use both almost everyday. I enjoy teaching Beginner and Intermediate topics in MS Excel 2003, 2007, and 2010.
I have worked with several e-mail packages including Outlook, Groupwise, Outlook Express, and Internet-based accounts. I will be able to teach you about setting reminders, adding calendar appointments, setting tasks, and managing your emails in folders.
My qualifications are the same for the other Expert certifications received from my Master Microsoft Office User Specialist certification that were received and approved at the same time as PowerPoint. I use PowerPoint for my graduate coursework at Amberton University.
I am familiar with several Microsoft operating systems and I will be able to teach you how to manage your folders and files in Windows Explorer, as well as manage your taskbar and desktop shortcuts. You will also learn how to move and copy files and change your desktop preferences. I am experienced with using Windows XP and Windows 7.
