I was recently asked what my dream job would be, if money was no object. While I'd love to say my response was a "tutor" that would be bogus; albeit, my answer WAS "teaching [English] in a foreign country." Point being-my heart’s desire is to teach. Teaching comes natural for some people, such as myself and that is my real passion. As I've worked in the medical industry for a few years now, I've recognized my natural role as a trainer/teacher.
Currently for 2015, I'm working to become certified to teach in the independent school districts with the DFW area. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology and graduated in 2010. I've taught English in a foreign country, substituted in Texas, and for the past 10-15 years I've had various leadership or teaching opportunities that range from Bible studies to mentoring high school students. I come from a family of teachers and my husband is a teacher in Dallas ISD. My specialties would be tutoring in Biology or English, but I am open to other subjects depending on content and level of the student. My teaching style depends solely on the student, as each child/person is different and we all learn in different manners.
Let me know if you'd like to discuss a tutoring opportunity for your child!

*Rates depend on level of subject; higher level subjects (HS) can be $50/hr. Elem/JH rates vary on subject content and need; $40-$45/hour (I.E. If subject is year round & consistent need is present).
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
