Prevent summer "brain drain"! Help your child get a head start on 2014-2015 school year by previewing their next math class. Their math skills will be challenged as they first review the math from the class they took in 2013-2014 that they will need for the upcoming school year. We will then preview the new material that they will be required to master in their next class. I use the step approach so the students have a road map for where they are going and how to get there as the journey is more important than the destination. We also discuss the different routes that they can take as there is rarely just one way to go. Whether your child needs to re-mediate, retain, or raise their math skills, get them started today. The first day of school is rapidly approaching! I look forward to the opportunity to work with your child.

Melanee tutored my son in Algebra 2 for 1 hour, and his test grade went from typical 67, to 80. He is very confident in her tutoring methods, and practice. We will keep her until he graduate.
Melanee teach my Daughter in Geometry AP. She is a very good tutor, she has very good concepts in Geometry and she has patience to teach lower and higher grades..
First time using WyzAnt as a tool I came across on an internet search to find help for my daughter's Precal needs. The easy and efficient result of finding Melanee and making plans for her to tutor my daughter in getting a better grasp in Precal... my daughter just after her first session expressed that "NOW IT MAKES SENSE"....PRICELESS! I highly recommend Melanee and WyzAnt ,a very professional team. Thank you!
My son's first lesson was exceptional. He was so excited after she left and was ready to conquer his class today. She will definitely be used again!!
Excellent experience for our entire family. My son was most grateful for her wonderful and expert tutelage. We promised to use her ongoing in this upcoming school year for all his math needs.
Melanee has tutored both of my boys over the last 3 years. She is more than a tutor, we consider her family. She is outstanding - has basically given my boys confidence in a subject they had no confidence. We admire her, respect her and appreciate her.
Melanee is a patient kind and amazing tutor. Her calm and systematic approach helps my son and he feels better about math after his lessons.
Melanee is a wonderful tutor. My son was struggling in Algebra 1. Melanee was very patient with him. My son felt very relaxed with her. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. She deserves an A++
Melanee provided me with insightful and patient instruction throughout my Algebra 1 distance learning course. She was an invaluable resource for me during the course.
Melanee is so patient and good at what she does. We feel lucky to have scored a spot with her this past school year. Will definitely call her again when we need the help! Thank you Melanee!
We absolutely love her. She comes on time and gets right to work with my son. Very patient and kind yet structured. I highly recommend her.
Melanee helped my son pass geometry! He couldn't have done it without her! She is a knowledgeable, patient, and effective tutor.
Melanee has tutored my kids this past year in both geometry and pre-AP calc. She explains concepts very well and breaks down complex problems into smaller ones. She also identifies weak areas and teaches these skills until a strong base is achieved. Melanee cares about her student's progress. She is very patient, easy to get along with and communicates very well. She will be tutoring my kids again this fall.
Melanee has tutored my daughters on a steady basis throughout the school year. My daughters' understanding of the math concepts greatly improved, which increased their grades from a C to A. This was a great accomplishment, because math is their least favorite subject. She is dependable, patient, and very competent. Mrs. E's ability to understand how your child learns is astonishing. Additionally, this summer she has tutored my high school senior with SAT prep. What was once an agonizing thought has been replaced with great expectation because of Mrs. E's calm, practical way of teaching. If your child is willing to put in the work to perform better in math, my wife and I highly recommend Mrs. E.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I taught Algebra I for two years and ESL Algebra I for one year in surrounding school districts. I have also tutored several students over the past two years in Algebra I helping them through the school year.
I taught Algebra II for 2 years at a surrounding school district and tutored several students the past two years to help them through the school year. I have a lot of activities put together to assist students in understanding many of the Algebra II concepts.
I taught for 10 years in surrounding districts. I taught Geometry each year and also taught ESL Geometry for 2 years in one district. I have attended many professional development sessions for Geometry so I have a lot of tools in my bag for each concept in Geometry. Geometry is second nature to me!
I have helped several students in surrounding districts while tutoring them throughout the school year. I put together a summer program to help students to prepare for the subject. I have recently attended several professional development sessions for precalculus, which gave me many activities to add to my tool bag.
I started teaching 13 years ago and the TAKS test has been around almost as long. I assisted in conducting Saturday TAKS tutorial as well as after school tutorials during my first 7 years. During my next three years of teaching I initiated and conducted Saturday TAKS tutorials at another district. The past three years I have taught TAKS prep to students during pull-outs at a local high school. I have also tutored students privately to assist them in being successful on the TAKS test. I recently helped a senior that took the test this past October that previously had missed passing by two problems but reached almost commended status after tutoring.
