Hello! It is such a joy to work with students and see goals reached! My teaching philosophy is to meet students where they are at academically and then through motivation, patience, and fun, grow them to reach their fullest potential. Lessons are created to be engaging and then students are able to practice the new concept in the learning style that best fits their needs. My experience includes working in education for seventeen years. I taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade as a classroom teacher in public and private schools for thirteen years. In addition, I worked with special needs students K-5 for three years as an instructional assistant and substituted a year with K-6. My bachelor of science degree comes from Texas State University where I specialized in early childhood education. I am a certified teacher for K-4th grade and I have completed a year long, in depth, Reading Academy course required by the State of Texas for all elementary teachers. The course focused on phonics and the best practices to teach reading. I enjoy tutoring any subjects for K-4th students and have seen great growth with my past and current students!
