In my spare time my personal interest includes, writing, reading, photography, kayaking, or hiking. For more than 9 years I have written contributing articles for the Mason County News and Fredericksburg Standard. For over seven years I written a weekly food editorial, “Gwen’s Gourmet” for the local newspaper and on my Facebook page. I have been published in “Farm & Ranch Living” and “Range Magazine”. I also recently had a contributing story in the book, “Tales from Out There”.
Food and nutrition are my other passions. I am certified in Diet and Nutrition Management. I served on Austin TXDOT District's Health Wellness Board for four years. Created a low-carb brown bag special menu that was used at stated-wide conferences.
I have an EdD and a degree in English from Charter Oak College. I feel that I have a strong understanding of the English language. I would like to be able to help other to get a better grasp of the English language because it is a language that is not easily interpreted.
I would like to say personally and through work and school I have worked with and taught many special needs individuals. I know it takes patience and a special set of skills when it comes to teaching special needs. I have approximately 5 years experience teaching special needs individuals. I believe it takes a special individual to be qualified to teach or tutor special needs.
