My name is Michelle. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with my Bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies. I have a teaching certificate through the Texas Education Agency to teach all major subject areas for early childhood through sixth grade. All of my lessons are catered to each individual child's needs. I try to keep the environment hands-on, and light-hearted as much as possible. Having struggled to learn in traditional teaching environments myself, I can often relate to students who "just don't get it."
I am currently out of the classroom, as my daughter was born this past October. I taught math, handwriting, and language arts to 66 third graders last year in Houston, TX. Although I do miss the classroom greatly, I hope to make a difference in children's lives in any situation. Tutoring allows me to better understand the academic goals, strengths and struggles for each student.
